World Refugee Day

Half of the world’s refugees – a staggering 8 million – are children.

They didn’t ask for the conflicts that tore apart their homes and communities.
They didn’t want to leave their families, their friends or their schools.
They didn’t opt for the violence, persecution and abuse that have become their new normal.

Like all kids, they deserve a chance at childhood: to go to school, to play, to dream of a future where they can become whatever they want to be.

Thanks to the support of people like you, War Child is working with South Sudanese refugee children living in Uganda and Syrian refugee children living in Jordan to help get childhood back on track. By providing access to education, school kits and safe places to learn and play, we are working to ensure that an entire generation is not lost to war.

This World Refugee Day, you can give a refugee child a reason to smile. Donate today.
